Jon Lutyens
Actor, Musician, Music Director, and Songwriter

Jon has worked primarily as an actor, in widely-varying projects ranging from classic plays (Mary Stuart, Mrs. Warren's Profession, Travesties) to Broadway hit musicals (Fiddler on the Roof, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Full Monty); from Arthur Miller to Oscar Wilde, from Shakespeare to Irving Berlin.  Often his work calls for instrumental musicianship -- although his primary instrument is the piano (with 21 years experience), Jon has learned music for various instruments on demand, including concertina, upright bass, ukulele, banjolele, mandolin, and cello.  He also harbors complementary affinities for puppetry and magic, and has performed both onstage when asked.

In the Seattle area, Jon has worked with ACT Theatre, Intiman Theatre, 5th Avenue Theatre, Village Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company/Wooden O, Book-It Repertory, ArtsWest, Thistle Theatre, Seattle Public Theatre, Balagan Theatre, Centerstage, Theater Schmeater, SecondStory Repertory, Seattle Musical Theatre (CLO), Showtunes Theatre Company, and Our American Theatre Company.  Beyond Puget Sound, Jon has worked with Pennsylvania Youth Theatre, Actor's Repertory Theatre in Spokane, and will be making his debut with Arizona Theatre Company this March.

His playwrighting was put before the public this last summer during the 2012 Kamikaze weekend of 14/48, and he recently began songwriting for the theatre, premiering a score for Book-It Repertory's touring adaptation of the popular children's book series "SkippyJon Jones".
